Venture down a series of challenging trails surrounded by pristine wilderness unscathed by human kind. The cliffs at the farthest point of Whitefish Lake are an excellent place to stop and have a picnic.

Sight Seeing
Take a break and spend a day touring some of the sites in the Thunder Bay area. You can go on your own or join us on a bus tour.
Some of the attractions include Kakabeka Falls, Old Fort William, Amethyst Mines as well as unique local gift shops.
Bird Watching
Spring's renewal sees the arrival of a considerable number of birds. From waterfowl to song birds, the accompanying chorus is wonderful following the quiet of winter. Whitefish Lake is home to the largest known colony of Red Necked Grebes (pictured) in the world.
Watching the unique nest building and mating rituals of the grebes is an amazing experience. See the eagles and osprey fish for their dinner or try to identify the many different birds.

Canoeing and Kayaking
Canoeing and kayaking offer an opportunity for you to enjoy the outdoors up close. Pack a lunch and explore a nearby lake, or tour the marshlands of Whitefish to view the wildlife and scenery. Some have been lucky enough to see the otters playing or the moose grazing in the shallows.
Rock Climbing
Rock climbing is available on the west end of Whitefish Lake and is easily accessible from the Artesian Wells hiking trails. Resident climbers have rated the cliffs from beginner to intermediate.
There are many challenging climbs awaiting you here!
